Description
To accommodate this epic trip the duration will be 10 days as to the normal week
- Day 1 : Arrive Geneva choice of transfer from Airport or pick up from Culoz train station take some refreshments get unpacked build the bikes up and take a short ride to check the bikes evening dinner.
- Day 2 : Taking in a good breakfast for the big day ahead. Heading south from St Martin de Bavel to Grignan a walled historic town in the Drôme 230km 1640m elevation following the river Isère in the Valley with the Alps to the left and Ardèche to the right. Staying in beautiful historic house in Grignan. Distance : 230km | Elevation : 1640m.
- Day 3 : After a breakfast setting of to the mythical Mont Ventoux around 160km 2000m elevation to the summit before the ascend the group will stop at Bédoin for coffee and pastries and soak in the Tour vibes as the anticipation of Peleton arriving the next day. Then our first major challenge Mont Ventoux the road will already be encamped from cycling fans and the interaction is always fantastic. Once we are at the iconic summit group photos we head back to Grignan for some rest and evening meal in a local restaurant.
- Day 4 : An early start to Ventoux having identified the spot where to watch the race . It’s usually pretty chaotic at the end being a summit finish ride back to Grignan evening dinner.
- Day 5 : Taking in a good breakfast then we head North back to Paradis du Velo HQ possibly catching a glimpse of the peloton as they race towards Valance. Distance : 215km | Elevation : 1670m.
- Day 6 : After breakfast we cross the river Rhone and head to the Alps to catch stage 18 & 19. The Col de Madeleine is our destination one of best with great views of the approaching Peloton. We will staying in Albertville fora night which will be very convenient base. Distance : 148km | Elevation : 3025m.
- Day 7 : After breakfast we follow the valley road and head up the mountains like the peloton I think our legs be feeling a bit fatigued so we can choose which Col to spectate, Col des Saisies would be a good choice. Then a mid afternoon ride back to Paradise du Velo. Distance : 133km | Elevation : 1924m.
- Day 8 : After a monumental week chasing the Tour we are in familiar territory the well kept secret the Bugey a relatively relaxed ride to the depart stage 20 to Nantua taking the Col de la Lebe and Col de la Richmond. Distance : 97km | Elevation : 1411m.
- Day 9 : Easy Sunday if you still feel like climbing we can take on the legendary Grand Colombier or a short coffee ride or even give those legs a deserved break at lac de Bourget the riviera of the Alps. Followed by a visit to local restaurant to celebrate an epic Tour.
- Day 10 : Departure to Geneva.
